Board-Approved Beginner Instruments

The following are the beginner instruments approved by the
Madison County School Board: 


Flute
Yamaha YFL200AD, Yamaha YFL-221S, Emerson EP1, Armstrong 204

Clarinet        
Yamaha YCL-400AD/YCL 450N, Yamaha YCL-200AD/YCL-250, Buffet B12, Leblanc Vito 7214
Mouthpiece:  Yamaha 5C, or Vandoren 5RVLyre
Reeds:  Start off on Vandoren 2.5, OR Rico 3; will progress to "3"s by Christmas

Alto Sax        
Yamaha YAS-200AD, Yamaha YAS23, Conn 27M
Mouthpiece:  Yamaha 5C, or Selmer C*
Reeds:  Start off on Vandoren 2.5, OR Rico 3; will progress to "3"s by Christmas
Also need adjustable padded neck strap.
 
French Horn
The school will provide the instrument.  Simply purchase the mouthpiece:  Schilke 31B

Trumpet: Yamaha YTR-2335, or YTR-200AD
Mouthpiece:  Bach or Blessing 5C, or Yamaha 14C4
 

Trombone:   Yamaha YSL-200AD/YSL354, King 606, Holton TR 602.
Mouthpiece:  Yamaha 12C. 

Tuba: The school will provide the instrument.  Simply purchase the mouthpiece.
Mouthpiece:  Blessing 24AW.
