About the Principal
Welcome to Germantown Middle School! Thank you for visiting our website.
Our goal for this year is for everyone on our campus to experience their BEST year at school ever! Whether it’s academics, arts, or athletics, the Germantown Mavericks are proud to be Trailblazers, setting the example for high standards of achievement. LaTanya Dunbar, Curriculum & Testing

I am a native of Woodville, MS and a 1994 graduate of Wilkinson County High School. In 1999, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tougaloo College. In 2001, I began her teaching career as a fourth grade teacher at Davis Magnet IB School in Jackson Public School District. I continued my education in 2002, where I obtained my Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education. In 2011, I obtained my Master of Educational Leadership form Jackson State University.
I also taught in Hinds County School District and Madison County School District. In 2015, I began my administrative career in Natchez-Adams School District as assistant principal at Susie B. West Elementary School. During my tenure in Natchez Adams, I served as an instructional principal and administrative principal at both Robert Lewis Magnet School and Natchez Middle School. In 2024, I served one year as assistant principal at Ferriday Junior High in Concordia Parish.
I am the proud mother of Corey, Casey and fur baby Zeke.

I am excited to begin my fourth year at Germantown Middle School and my seventh overall year in administration, serving as your 7th-grade Assistant Principal and Science Department lead.
I started my career in education as a middle school math teacher and high school/middle school football and basketball coach at Madison Middle School and Madison Central. Upon entering administration, I have served as a high school assistant principal and athletic director at Terry High School and Ocean Springs High School on the coast.
Personally, I am married to the wonderful Kristen Klein and the proud father of Ellie Brie and Emmie Kate.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from The University of Mississippi and my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College. I look forward to a great year!!

My name is Betsey Gill and I am the nurse at Germantown Middle School! I received my bachelor's degree in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women, and I have been a nurse for 9 years. This is my fourth year at GMS - go Mavs! I am married to Joseph Gill and we have two precious boys - Henry (3) and Daniel (1).
This year my school hours are 9 AM - 3 PM daily. I love taking care of your kids at school - thank you for entrusting them to us!

You will need to have the following documents:
1) Lease or deed (See residency requirements for additional information)
2) 2 current utility bills
3) Immunization Form 121
4) Birth Certificate
5) Social Security Card
6) Copy of last report card
7) Copy of latest standardized test results
8) Withdrawal form from last school

Registration Information
IF YOU LEASE YOUR HOME:

You must submit a current lease agreement signed by the homeowner. (all occupants must be listed on the lease)

You will also need to provide two different current utility bills (electric, water, gas, land phone) that clearly show the street address and name shown on the lease.
IF YOU HAVE MOVED (to a new house in our zone):

You must bring a copy of your new deed or lease.( all occupants must be listed on the lease)

You must also complete a new affidavit of legal residence in the school office.

Two different current utility bills (electric, water, gas, land phone) which clearly show the street address and name shown on the lease must also be provided.

Residency Requirements
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS for GERMANTOWN MIDDLE SCHOOL |

If your residence has not changed, or if your lease has not expired during the 2022-2023 school year, you need to provide the following:
· 2 current utility bills, as outlined in paragraph 3 below If your residence has changed, please submit the following:
1. An Affidavit of Residence, available at your school office or online at www.madison-schools.com/Domain/773 and:
2. IF YOU OWN YOUR HOME - A recorded copy of your property deed.
IF YOU LEASE YOUR RESIDENCE - An original, current lease agreement naming all residents of the dwelling and:
3. Two different current utility bills (electric, water, gas, land phone) that clearly show the street address and name of resident. Cell phone bills will not be accepted to verify residency. Utility bills listing a post office box as an address will only be accepted if the service address is also listed.
Please note that residency requirements must be fulfilled each year as part of the registration process. No schedules will be handed out until residency requirements have been satisfied.
